Get that boy to a powwow
We drove there on a Friday, slept over and went to the powwow on Saturday morning. Grand entry was at 1:00 pm so we got there early. He wanted to get dressed right away. I said, “Kawerashatste, we got a 2 hour wait,” but no he wanted to get dressed.

A way of remembering
I remember dancing on the rocks, grass, and at the end of the weekend, all our feet and our calves were so sore.
Buffalo Burger
We didn’t always have a powwow in Kanehsatà:ke. The powwow started here in the 90s after the Siege of Kanehsatà:ke. Walter David Sr. started it in July, but it’s now done at the end of August.
